Just a Peek of My Adventures in Yellowstone

I don't have a lot of time to blog, so I was just going to show you a few pictures of what we've seen/done in Yellowstone over the past few days, which has been a TON of really amazing stuff! If nothing else, I will come away from this vacation with a newfound love/appreciation for the geothermic fores that stew beneath our feet. Geysers are muy AWESOME!

Like I said, I was going to put up a few pictures, but I'm on a borrowed laptop, so you'll have to enjoy just one tiny little appetizer of a picture.

Yep. That's it for now. Gaze into the aqua depths of that boiling crater and imagine yourself inhaling its sulphur-laden steam. Mmmmm.

  1. I read in this book one time that Yellowstone is in actuality the largest volcanic system in the world, and that it is WAY past due to blow off A LOT of pressure. Enjoy the rest of your week :)

  2. Indeed the entire Yellowstone valley is actually an underground volcano called a caldera...and between it and the massive fault line that runs along the Wasatch Front we're all doomed.

Also, I've never been to Yellowstone. I was supposed to go last summer but then I got Swine Flu. So, I'm jealous.

  4. Oh yeah... we've been joking about the fact that any second the entire park could erupt into a disaster of biblical proportions. I figure, though, that if it happens while I'm up here, I'll be thrown thousands of feet into the air where I'll have a great view of the fireworks before I die. :)
